As a leading insurer, MORE TH>N and our parent company Royal & SunAlliance are all too aware of the impact of extreme weather on our customers through events such as floods and subsidence. Climate change is therefore one of the most important issues we face. It is an issue close to our heart and something we have been passionately involved in for years.

We are proud to have been the first insurer in the UK to become carbon neutral in December 2006. The move was part of our long-term strategy to reduce our environmental impact – we’ve been reporting publicly on this since 1999. Since 2000 we’ve reduced our carbon emissions by more than half and are committed to reducing these further.

Through MORE TH>N, we are encouraging environmentally responsible behaviour with the announcement of two motor eco-insurance products. The first is a new eco-insurance product where we will install GPS technology into people’s cars, free of charge, to give them information on their driving behaviour, that will help them drive in a greener way. This will help people spend less money on fuel and pollute less.

The second is that we’ve just extended our eco-car discount, which is up to 15 per cent off, to include not only hybrids, but all eco-friendly cars such as LPGs and electrics. At the same time, we will offset the first 3,000 miles driven by drivers of all cars who buy our insurance through the MORE TH>N link on this website.
